What do those little labels on clothes mean?

Are you a highly experienced capable house manager and at first glance you know best how to wash that gorgeous printed shirt, this sturdy waterproof coat or that comfy light sweatshirt? If so, this article is not for you :)

... Or are you like me and don't really know and sometimes take a guess? Do you throw light & dark clothes into the washing machine, regardless of what the label says on the dresses? You pick up the washing basket with the dirty clothes, throw them into the washing machine - as much as you can fit in there, you choose the MIX program (that's what it's there for, right?), and when you take out the clothes from the washing machine, some have come out with a different colour pattern? I am also not the best of friends with the iron so when it's nice outside, I shake, press and stretch the laundry, so I don't have actually to iron it! And on rainy days? Throw everything in the tumble dryer or not? Should I or should I not…? OK, so I'll try it because clothes on the clothesline will take at least 2-3 days to dry and if I use the tumble dryer I' I hope I have taken out the same size clothes which I've put in :)

Taking care of clothes has only recently changed fro me when I received my first order-collection from the supplier, and my seven-year-old daughter had enriched her wardrobe with beautiful dressesleggings with tops and jackets. I knew that I wanted my little one’s clothes to come out like new for as long as possible so I had to learn something more about it. As I had decided to start an e-shop with children's clothes, I now have to understand the materials and find out for myself how to take care of them, and I have to be able to advise you from my own experience.

Most of the clothes in my little one’s wardrobes are from the collections for boys and girls, which are available from our TOP STAR ORIGINAL website.  They wear these clothes daily, and I also wash them every day so that I can guarantee you their high quality.

Here is an overview of clothing labels that we usually come across:

The individual symbols are combined or together simply determine how the materials can be washed, bleached or ironed.

For example, this is a combination of individual brands. I've chosen a few pieces:
